Chrome Gmail Checker - sign in problem

Had an issue with Google Chrome Gmail checker - extension would not sign in, was always grayed out with question mark.

The solution which worked for me:

1. Open Chrome.

2. Disable Google Mail Checker plugin (you can do that on extension page)

3. Sign in to your gmail account in another tab

4. Enable Google Mail Checker extension

Voila Gmail Checker icon becomes red
